Compudava Foundation was founded in
July 2003 by directors of the Compudava SRL software company – Dr.
Vasile Nedelciuc, Valentin Metgher and Eugen Cozonac. The Foundation is
affiliated to Foreign Capital Company Compudava SRL – the company
that belongs to British company Brains Group specialized in software
development and services.
Having among its founders and the members of the Board persons with significant
experience in developing and exporting software services to United Kingdom,
as well as in political, educational, medical and non-governmental areas,
the Foundation proposed to put to good use their connections and potential
of collaboration of Compudava SRL and Brains Group Ltd with business partners
from inside and outside of Moldova to provide assistance to public institutions,
to special schools and hospitals, as well as to vulnerable population in
Moldova in accessing new technologies and cooperation with foreign donors.
The first important project of the Foundation was a donation of 200 brand
Pentium II computers to three important medical institutions - Republican
Hospital (80 computers), Institute of Cardiology(70 computers), and Balti
Municipal Hospital (50 computers). The computers were offered via Brains Group Ltd by the charity British company Digital Link International with
the support of Waymaker Ltd, a Compudava SRL and Brains Group Ltd customer.
The Foundation also organized the First Alumni Reunion of Graduates from
Western Universities born in Moldova. About 80 people representing different
Western countries attended the reunion. The participants discussed in
an informal way subjects that relate to Moldova’s future, the way
they can support their country of birth to overcome current difficulties
and join the European Union.
By means of its objectives, projects implemented or launched, by the number
of volunteers, and internal and external partners it cooperates with,
Compudava Foundation already plays an important role in Moldovan society.
